I've been watching quite a few live action movies and Jdramas the last couple of days.

On Sunday I saw the movies Gantz 1 and 2. It was quite gruesome but I enjoyed the plot. I recall a few years ago I tried to watch the anime, but the plot wasn't of a much interest to me those days. How wrong I was :) This is quite a complex world. Plus it was great to Matsuyama Kaniichi among the cast members.

The second one is a jdrama called 'No Dropping out :Back to school at 35'. This reminded me a lot of Gokusen, but this one had much more content - class heirarchy, bullying, teenage suicide, depression, friendship, peer pressure, violence, even depression and bullying amongst teachers. The first episde had me in tears. This is a very good series, and thankfully no cutesy romance to spoil it all. It starts Ryoko Yonekura as the lead.

Work is going all right. I won a raffle at an event at work, and the prize was a £40 gift card to Vue Cinemas, plus a box of movie munchies.

I started watching this since yesterday, and I love it!!! Its funny, quirky, and doesn't need to get serious. I cant believe I took so long to find this :)

Also, I love it when this guy comes on with his own little funny soundtrack, the track itself is a stroke of genius :)

This weekend I stayed at home. I had a 'Kuroshitsuji' weekend, so basically I saw the first two seasons, the OVAs, and the latest 'Book of Murder'.

After which I progressed to the movie. Having not seen before and knowing the basic premise, I wasn't too keen on it. But I was pleasantly surprised. Leaving aside the flimsy plot and the half hearted acting for most of the part, this was a very STYLISH movie. I actually enjoyed the action, and Hiro Mizushima did a great job as Sebastian. Ayame Goriki wasn't too bad, though how can anyone in their right mind inagine her to be a boy? Meyrin was a surprise, she had some very well choreographed action scenes. I think the movie did try their best to combine East with the West, though fell short on numerous fronts.

Also, a special mention to the little fanservice towards the end..

Toradora!!

I can understand why Toradora is called a 'complex' anime.. a plethora of feelings and emotions, such an amazing whirlpool.. or maybe its the fifteen year old inside of me. I love this series.

Im not much into romantic animes, or anything remotely close. But Im so glad I gave this a chance. Extremely likeable characters, layers of emotions, beautiful storyline with a good dose of comedy. Its a very warm, fuzzy and relaxing anime.

Would be glad for some similar recommendations!!!!

I finished FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood finally <3 along wit the OVAs and the movies :) But now, I'm desperately seeking something that comes close to its epicness.. I've finished of Attack on Titan, D. Gray Man, Death Note, Code Geass etc.

Any recommendations?

Another trailer for Black Butler, live action

Ever since my comeback to my precious manga world, I started keeping a lookout for some good animes as well, preferable something with action and psychological combined, or maybe with a good storyline, but was sort of surprised to find this:

Maybe it's me, and I enjoy the good old days of Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, or later Death Note, XXHolic, or Code Geass.. Even Mononoke, and ever powerful Kuroshitsuji. Something similar to these genres, with different storyline/animation. Seems like almost all the latest releases have Slice of Life written all over, or maybe I'm getting older...

On the same note, here's an amazing video, showing some behind the scenes artwork of Mononoke

Two of really talented young actors, have retired to pursue further studies. I recently found Shougo Sakamoto has retired since Dec 2011, and Kyousuke Hamao announced his retirement this October. Best wishes in your future endeavours.

Recently I fell in love with Daimao, Daisuke Watanabe and Kyosuke Hamao, stars if Takumi kun series :) and of course, to the speculation they might be an actual couple... It's a pity Kyosuke plans to retire so early. But good luck to him and his future endeavours !!!

I would have loved a movie featuring Yuya Matsushita in it. But the trailer looks interesting :

Didn't even know it existed before today, and I'm so glad to see it :) I loved Anne Watanabe playing as Yuuko. Her portrayal of Yuko was spot-on. I loved the way how these episodes were much darker than the anime, and CGI effects were used only at minimum. Not very impressed with Karen Miyazaki as Himawari chan though.

Both Watanuki and Doumeki had slightly different personalities as compared to the anime/manga, but I think it worked perfectly with the current setting which leaned more towards the 'horror' genre more than the slight comedy genre that existed in the manga. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed, but felt it was too short.

Saw the Finale of Harry Potter last night, it was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also completes two animes, House of Five Leaves and Mushishi. Both had a similar relaxing nature to it, and were episodic.

In House of Five Leaves, Akitsu Masanosuke is a timid ronin on his way to Edo from the countryside when he accidentally encounters a playboy named Yaichi, who asks him to be his bodyguard. But it turns out that Yaichi is actually the leader of a group of bandits called the "Five Leaves," and he's hoping that Masanosuke will join them. Masanosuke is reluctant to help them, but as he grows closer to his eccentric new companions, he learns to relate to them and grow as a person in the process[ANN].

It had a nice relaxing nature, and captured the feel of the Edo period in Japan beutifully. The animation might not appeal to all though, and the series got pretty slow towards the middle of the series. Masa's laid-back and slow nature often made me feel frustrated. But the anime picked up towards the last few episodes, also each of their characters had their own story-lines to share.

I am a huge fan of Samurai Champloo now. The animation, time-period of the anime, partly rap music style, and the bawdy jokes... fantastic. A modern hip hop tale to the medival samurai era.  Nothing could be better :) Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] crsg 's recommendation for it.

Saw Kung Fu Panda 2. After so many years, I still loved Po!! That panda is fraking adorable :) And the furious five. I wish those guys had more lines though. I wish the Crane and Mantis spoke up more though. But the visulas were fantastic. Glad to have seen the movie in 3-D. I also saw X-Men2 First Class. This was actually my first X-Men live action movie (I had seen the animations only); and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Hangover 2 had some funny moments, but for most part, I felt; an hour and half of my life were never coming back :( The only new movie I'm waiting this season is Harry Potter. Stake Land feels like another 'Return of the Dead' sequel. Mother's Day might be fun, but no special effects other than just being an utter psychotic film. Might go for Honey 2 though.

I completed Pandora Hearts. It was superb!!

Oz Vessalius, heir to the Vessalius dukedom, has just turned fifteen. His life is rich and carefree, darkened only by the constant absence of his father. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, everything changes. For no reason that he can discern, Oz is cast into the prison known as the "Abyss", only to be saved by a "Chain" known as Alice, the Bloodstained Black Rabbit, B-Rabbit for short. The mystery there begins as Oz unravels the mystery behind Alice, the Abyss and the strange organization known as Pandora.

But, I have a LOT of questions.

Cut for spoilers )

Whys are animes so incomplete? *sobs*

At this moment, I am completely obsessed with Kuroshitsuji musical 1. I really cannot get the tunes of the songs out of my head.

The characters are so awesome!! Even though Sebastian has a high pitch voice, he sings beautifully and is an amazing performer. I loved most of the characters, out of which Undertaker and Grell rocked.

This is the song between Grell (uehara Takuya) and Sebastian (Yuya Matsushita)

The following one is my absolute favorite, between Ceil (Sakamoto Shougo) and Sebastian.
