Writer's Block: Bird by Bird

Of course its cruel; but conditions applied.
My cousin had once nursed a parrot; and the pretty li'l thing grew up in the household; albeit in a cage. Some months later, due to pressure from her husband, she decided to let it out of the cage; to let her 'fly freely and mingle with her own kind'. The very next day, the family cat found it and ate it. I think birds should be allowed to be free; as long as they are able to survive on their own and protect themselves. Here I must include some rare birds as well some endangered species...
