Japanese food is my favorite kind of takeaway. I usually have the urge have one Japanese meal every two weeks. Scotland has quite a lot of good Japanese restaurants, though food may not be fully authentic and has a Scottish flavor. Today I ordered a lunch of Chicken Katsu curry with rice, avocado maki, chocolate mochi, Custard Dorayaki, Ueshima's Chilled Coffee. This is the first time I'm trying out this paricular coffee, its different but has a nice flavour.

Here in this post I list a couple of delicious food indulgences from last week.

Our lunch at workplace has the American name of 'Deli'. But the food is generally UK or Scottish based. Breakfast is usually comprised of fried items such as bacon, black pudding, hash brown, eggs, sausages and a breadroll. Lunches would usually be a wholesome plate of food of a rice based item,

This below is one of my favorites at lunch. Its mash potatoes with chickhn broth, and topped with boiled chicken, mushroom, peppers and garnish. It has a delicious creamy texture, and has a pinch of salt with almost no spices.

This below here is one of my favorite desserts - Lotta Chocca Pizza from Dominoes. The taste is heavenly, the base is quite buttery and salty, and the topping is rich melted milk chocolate. I cannot have more than two slices though, as this is quite rich.

After coming to Scotland, I became a huge fan of gelato ice-cream. Gelato are basically Italian ice creams, with delicious flavouring. My favorite flavors are Tiramisu, Honeycomb and Belgian Chocolate.

Here's the second love of my life.. after my bf. They are delicious and yummy fried Indian sweets.

The state that I am from in India are famous for its production, as well as export of a variety of sweets. They are usually the types made from cottage cheese, milk, or chhena, a type of moist un-fermented cheese.

The left image shows 'Gulab Jamun', or 'Pantua'. Gulab Jamun is similar to a dumpling, made from semolina, unsalted cheese, sugar, flour and eggs among other small ingredients used for flavoring. I tried making it a couple of times, but the consistency is quite difficult to achieve from store bought readymade mixture. Plus because they need to be soaked in sugar syrup, the last thing I would want (and has happened countless times) is for them to break and end end up in a syrupy mess.

The right image is a version of 'gulab jamun', called 'kalo jaamun'. The word 'kalo' means black. They are basically gulaab jamuns, but deep fried in ghee (unclarified butter) thus their outer skin becomes quite hard. This sweet is quite rich and heavy, for me, I cannot have more than one of these at a time. It is very popular at weddings, birthdays and other celebrations.

But my most favorite sweet is gulaab-jamun, eaten with vanilla ice cream.
