I used to have a friend who would get irritated with me whenever I told her this, when I'd try to comfort her in her struggles.
She'd always tell me "Give me credit! They aren't the same demons! The fact that I wake up, that I am fighting, means those demons are getting smaller. They aren't the same. One day they are these overwhelming things that I can't even..I can't wrap myself around but the next morning, I'm a little bit taller and I can start to reach around. And its slow. But they get smaller."
I wonder if it was that thinking that finally pulled her out of her depression.
