On a bus stop#busstop #billboard #edinburgh

So true!On my way home, I observed this billboard at a bus stop.

I'm not obese, I'm overweight. I have a BMI of 26. And I want to get myself in a healthy category, with a BMI of 20 to 25. Hence I really want to get back at my diet of VLCD, as NHS calls it, which is very low calorie diet. So basically I'll be dropping my daily intake to about 600 to 800 calories. Once my BMI and weight are within range, I will adopt a lifestyle of healthy eating and diet. I will have a consultant to help me with this.

So I'm excited for my new phase in my diet.

Overeating does cause obesity. And I'm overweight because I can't keep my hands off shortbread, crisps, and sweet stuff. My work has free vending machines. It's so easy to nip out a packet of munchies than actually waiting till I get home for healthier alternatives. If I do wait till I get home, I get so ravenous that I can't stop to gobble down whatever I get my hands on. That needs to change. My lifestyle needs to change.

Spring flowers are out, but the weather is supposed to get colder this week.

Is it healthy to get that low? That's what put me in the hospital.

My GP (doctor) is aware I'll go on the plan. But I'll need to stick to the plan that involves packets of meals... they will give me all vitamins and minerals snd fibre without carbs...

Ah, so you'll be on actual meal packets that allow you to drop that low while still getting all necessary vitamins and minerals and such. That's not so unhealthy.
I was simply barely eating.

I'm doing the same. I'm on 1000 cal a day and absolutely no processed foods. I have to prepare everything myself. So I keep broth in the fridge and drink it cold to help when I MUST EAT NOW kind of moments. That takes the edge off so I can think and make dinner. Basically I just got lazy over the last few years and I have to un-lazy myself so I stop having take-away or biscuits.

Have you done H.I.T. cycling? It's really great.20 minutes each day is enough to burn fat and firm muscle. I've been doing the 20sec/10sec intervals. I've only been doing it for 3 weeks but I feel really good and look healthier. I've also been using an app to track my food intake (netdiary), once I reach my goal BMI I'll keep using it to stay at that level and be more food aware. It has helped me so much.

When I was dieting (when I was young) I gave myself a snack of up to 200 cal at 3pm. And tied myself over with black coffee after that. (Clear type) Soup is good too. It will fill you up with little calories. Just be careful not to get soup that's too salty. There is nothing wrong with a snack and having something to look forward to will make the diet last longer.

You could also consider having a big lunch and then cutting the carbs at night. That helped me lose weight after the kids were born.

Chips are my weakness. Good luck with your diet!

I'm recently trying to get healthier, too! My BMI is a bit over 27 and I'd like it to be around 24, that would be enough. I'm already down three-ish punds from my heaviest. My goal is more increasing exercise, though, and cutting down on unhealthy snacks and treats than calorie intake. But basically we're on the same journey. Let us know how it goes!

Chips are a weakness for me. I try not to buy them because I just tend to snack on them all day. I'm only 3 lbs from a healthy BMI. I'm also trying so hard to stick to a 1200 calorie diet but I tend to eat more than that. Good Luck! :)

Obesity is terrible. I am 166, and 5'1... and my sister is more heavier than I am... and I'm worried about her.
